TeleVani Privacy Policy

TeleVani is a messaging service (Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and the web at televani.com) run by Malnad Tech. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Contact us at [email protected].

• Phone number — your account identity and how you sign in (by a one-time code).
• Profile — the name, username, bio, photos and birthday you choose to add, and who may see each.
• Contacts — if you allow it, the phone numbers in your address book are checked to show which of them use TeleVani. We keep the matches you save; you can remove them at any time.
• Messages and media — ordinary chats, groups and channels are stored on our servers so they sync across your devices. They are encrypted in transit and at rest.
• Secret chats — end-to-end encrypted between the two devices. We cannot read their messages, media or calls. Their files are deleted from our servers as soon as the other device has downloaded them (or after 7 days), and "Send files directly" files never reach our servers at all.
• Devices and sessions — device type and name, app version, IP address and sign-in times, so you can see and end your sessions and we can stop abuse.
• Location — only when you choose to share a location in a chat.
• Calls — voice and video travel peer to peer or through our relay servers, encrypted. We do not record calls; we keep a call log entry (who, when, how long) in the chat.
• Reports — when you report a message or account, what you report goes to our moderators.

To run the service: deliver messages and calls, sync your devices, send notifications, keep accounts secure (sign-in codes, rate limits, abuse prevention) and act on reports. We do not sell your data and we do not show advertising.

• Twilio and APITXT — send sign-in codes by SMS.
• Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers push notifications.
• PusherHub — sends our announcement notifications on Android and iOS. It receives the device's push token, your account ID, and the device's brand, model, app version, language, country and time zone.
• Cloudflare (including R2 storage) — network protection and storage of encrypted media.
• LiveKit — relays group calls.
• GIPHY — GIF search, when you open the GIF picker.
• Stripe — payments for paid plans, if you buy one. We never see your card number.
• An AI provider — only the text you choose to use with AI features (smart replies, rewrite, translate, summarize), to produce the result.

Each processes data only to provide its part of the service.

Your data is kept while your account exists. Messages you delete for everyone are removed. When you delete your account, your profile, contacts and sessions are deleted and your phone number is released; messages you already sent remain in the other participants' chats, shown as from a deleted account. Server logs are kept for a short time for security.

• Control who sees your phone number, last seen, photo and more in Settings › Privacy.
• Download a copy of your data: Settings › Account › Export my data.
• Delete your account in the app (Settings › Account › Delete account) or at televani.com/delete-account.
• Email us to ask about, correct or delete your data.

Connections use TLS; stored messages and media are encrypted; data on your device is kept in the platform's secure storage; secret chats are end-to-end encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell affected users about a breach as the law requires.

TeleVani is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

If this policy changes, we update this page and its date, and tell you in the app when the change is significant.
