Secret Chats are locked on your phone and unlocked only on theirs. Not TeleVani, not your network, not anyone who gets into our servers can read them.
Files go phone to phone
Turn on Send files directly and photos, videos and documents travel straight from your phone to theirs. They are never uploaded, so there is nothing on our servers to leak, subpoena or hack.
Deleted the moment they arrive
Without direct sending, a secret file is encrypted on your phone before it leaves, stored only as unreadable bytes, and deleted from our servers as soon as the other phone has downloaded it — or after 7 days.
Messages that destroy themselves
Set a self-destruct timer — from one second to a week — and every new message disappears from both phones when its time is up. Photos and videos can even be view-once.

Check that nobody is in the middle
Every secret chat has an encryption key, shown as a colour grid. Open it on both phones: if the pictures match, your chat is talking to the right device and no one is listening in.
Secret calls, end to end
Voice and video calls from a secret chat are set up inside its encryption, so their audio and video can be decrypted only by the two phones on the call.
No screenshots, no forwarding
On Android, screenshots of a secret chat are blocked. Messages can't be forwarded out, and with Protect my files on, what you send opens only inside TeleVani.
Notifications that say nothing
A secret message never puts its text or its sender on your lock screen or through a notification service. The alert just says you have a new message.
Sealed on your device
Secret chats live only on the one device you started them on, saved encrypted with keys kept by the device's own secure storage. They are never synced to the cloud or opened in a browser.

- 3Once they accept, look for the lock and the green name: you're end-to-end encrypted.

We don't invent our own cryptography
Secret Chats use vodozemac, the independently audited implementation of the Olm protocol published by the Matrix project, with AES-256 file encryption and ed25519 device keys. Our servers keep only public keys and pass along bytes they cannot open.
