Why turn it on
Normally, anyone who receives the code sent to your phone number can sign in to your account. A swapped SIM, a borrowed phone or an intercepted message would be enough. With two-step verification on, a correct code is not enough: TeleVani also asks for a password that only you know.
How to turn it on
- 1Open SettingsIn the TeleVani app, go to Settings › Privacy and Security.
- 2Choose Two-step verificationTap Two-step verification and choose a password of 8 to 72 characters.
- 3Add a hint (optional)A hint is shown when you sign in, to help you remember. Never put the password itself in the hint.
- 4You're protectedFrom now on, signing in on a new device needs the SMS code and your password.

Signing in with it
On a new device, enter your phone number and the SMS code as usual, then your two-step verification password. Devices that are already signed in stay signed in.
Changing or turning it off
Go to the same screen to change your password or turn two-step verification off. Both need your current password, so someone who picks up your unlocked phone can't remove the protection. Too many wrong passwords lock further attempts for 15 minutes.
If you forget your password
Your hint is shown on the password screen. Your password is stored only in a one-way scrambled form, so nobody at TeleVani can look it up for you. Keep it somewhere safe, such as a password manager.
